The Accounting Director will be responsible for leading the delivery of compensation programs and special projects. This role will provide consulting, analysis, project management, and design support to ensure alignment of compensation programs with Vencore’s strategic goals. Specific program accountabilities may include one or more of the following: base pay program and annual planning process, corporate variable and incentive compensation plans, global mobility, employee recognition and rewards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages and performs traditional general accounting functions/analysis within accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll.
  • Responsible for several segments of the general accounting function either directly or through subordinate managers.
  • Responsible for the employment, training, and evaluation of assigned employees.
  • Assists the Controller in the daily banking requirements.
  • Insures an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.
  • Works with the Controller to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit.
  • Responds to inquiries from the Controller or CFO, and other finance and company-wide managers regarding financial results and special reporting requests.


Requires BA/BS with 12 to15 years, with at least six plus years as a manager. Incumbent will have a specialized knowledge in one or more fields of disciplines and general knowledge in a number of others.


  • 15+ years of experience in accounting operations.
  • The candidate must have hands-on experience with accounts payable, payroll, travel/expense, invoicing and collections.
  • He/she must have extensive experience and knowledge in in-house payroll.
  • The candidate must have experience leading an accounting department of managers, supervisors and staff, therefore strong communication and strong leadership skills are REQUIRED.
  • He/she must have experience implementing and maintaining strong internal controls and will interact with auditors (external/internal) frequently.
  • Costpoint and experience with systems integrations is REQUIRED.
  • CPA is desired, but not required.
  • This role includes frequent interactions with other directors within the organization (specifically accounting, finance, compliance and HR), therefore individual must demonstrate collaboration.
