Responsibilities

Manages, plans, staffs, budgets and coordinates the administration of the department, fulfilling internal and external graphic design and/or multimedia production needs. Supervises and implements graphic design or multimedia elements that are part of large-scale marketing, advertising and creative campaigns. When assigned to a video or multimedia production, the incumbent is accountable for the coordination and scheduling of talent, set and prop selection, and ensuring that the program is completed on time within budget and to the client's satisfaction. Coordinates and supervises the activities of the department staff. Acts as production coordinator for video and photography projects involving outside contractors. Develops and produces slide and video productions. Selects, trains and evaluates subordinates and initiates personnel actions in accordance with Human Resource policies and organization philosophy. Participate in the creative development of communications messaging.

 

Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and materials. Plans concept by studying information and materials provided by the customer. Illustrates concept by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, font and style, and related aesthetic concepts. Obtains pre-approval of concept by submitting rough layout to government customer. Adjusts as necessary based on government’s requirements. Prepares final layout of finished copy and art. Cognizant of government schedule and is responsive to short turn-around times.

 

 

Experience: Graphic design Skills, layout Skills, creative Services, customer focus, creativity, flexibility, attention to detail, deadline-oriented, desktop publishing tools, acute vision, and demonstrates familiarity with current graphic trends and techniques and different mediums (e.g. video, web-enabled, automation, and printing). Maintains technical knowledge by attending design workshops; reviewing professional publications; participating in professional societies. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

 

 

Qualifications

 

Clearance: TS/SCI w Poly

 

Education: Graphic designers shall have a bachelor’s degree in graphic design or a related field

 

Requires BA/BS with 10 years of experience with at least 4 years of management level responsibility. Incumbent has specialized knowledge in at least one area of expertise and a general knowledge in 1-2 other areas.
