Responsibilities

This position requires an active  TS/SCI clearance;

 

 

Vencore supports the Mission Assurance Support Services (MASS) contract formerly known as Reliability
Engineering Support Services (RESS) as a subcontractor to Bastion Technologies.  Bastion was awarded the prime
contract by the California Institute of Technologies (Caltech) Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), which operates
under a prime contract with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

Within JPL, there is a Mission Assurance Division which manages the Reliability Engineering and Mission Environmental Assurance Office, the Quality Assurance Office, and the Electronic Parts Engineering (Component Engineering & Assurance) Office.  These three Offices are responsible for providing specialized technical engineering services for all JPL in-house projects/missions.

These services include engineering support in the following areas:  reliability, environments, electromagnetic compatibility, probabilistic risk assessment, quality assurance and inspection, electronic parts engineering and failure analysis.

 

Typical duties:

 

Prepare product reliability plans, establish requirements for and monitor reliability programs; develop reliability trade-off studies; perform or review reliability analyses; assess performance with respect to requirements; evaluate effectiveness of the failure reporting, analysis, and corrective action implementation; prepare reports; support logistic activities and reporting; support system and design teams; establish reliability models and utilize models for systems and subsystems analysis.

 

Major duties and responsibilities of this position include:

  • Prepares product reliability plans
  • Establishes requirements for and monitors reliability programs
  • Develops reliability trade-off studies
  • Performs or reviews reliability analyses
  • Assesses performance with respect to requirements
  • Evaluates effectiveness of the failure reporting, analysis, and corrective action implementation
  • Prepares reports
  • Supports logistics activities and reporting
  • Supports system and design teams
  • Establishes reliability models and utilizes models for systems and subsystems analysis

Qualifications

  • Requires 10 to 12 years with BS/BA or 8 to 10 years with MS/MA or 5 to 7 years with PhD.

 This position requires an active  TS/SCI clearance;

  • Must have a Bachelor of Science degree with equivalent course work in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Physics, or an equivalent field, 
  • At least 10years of experience in electronic systems reliability activities.
  • Experience must include digital, analog, or RF design and analysis, such as Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Worst Case Analysis (WCA), Electronic Parts Stress Analysis (PSA), Single-Events Effects Analysis (SEEA), reliability assessment, modeling, prediction trade off studies, system evaluations; failure reporting, analysis, and corrective action; use of computer aided engineering tools.
