Successful candidate will support a Systems Engineering contract with the USG based in Laurel, MD. The position will be full-time in Seoul, South Korea at a customer facility. Successful candidate will provide regional SE support in coordination with other VENCORE employees within and outside the region.
Standard Job Description: Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Position is an individual contributor role for remote site Systems Engineering support to a Government Chief Systems Engineer in accordance with the Enterprise Systems Engineering and Architecture II(ESEA) contract. This position is located in Korea and requires security clearance processing to be fully completed prior to the selected candidate’s sponsored relocation. The selected candidate will apply the skills and competencies of a lead systems engineer to advise and support the Field Site elements in applying proven industry Systems Engineering processes and methodologies to effectively and efficiently address Site needs. The selected candidate must be able to tailor SE processes and adapt Site processes/methodologies to fit Site resource constraints and still provide timely value added support. This individual will need to communicate to Site organization elements that do not have SE backgrounds and may not have seen or experienced these disciplines/approaches in their past job experiences. The SE focus will be primarily on the right side of the SE V model addressing the integration of systems/capabilities developed elsewhere into the Site baseline, O&M of mission/systems, and decommissioning. The candidate will need to be familiar with resource management techniques for manpower, power, space, cooling, software, and systems and be able to support planning and consolidation/integration of work packages. The Principal Engineer (PE) will be required to provide status and progress reports to the Site Leadership as required. As a senior level Systems Engineer, the PE will be expected to train and mentor other engineers and customers in Vencore methodology and processes and also support site-specific process improvement and training activities, and encourage the adoption of sound SE principles and practices. The PE will be expected to utilize “reach-back” capabilities to other Vencore operating elements when needed and develop growth and extension of tasks as new opportunities surface in support of the Government.
Requires 20 years with BS/BA or 18 years with MS/MA or 24 years with Ph.D.
Required Skills: • Intelligence Community (IC) classified environment experience and TS SCI clearance; • Ability to provide technical leadership to the local Data Center Facilities team with a broad set of responsibilities; manage tactical and strategic activities with focus on continuous improvement. • Subject Matter Expert (SME) level understanding of Data Center standards and requirements • Excellent communications skills at all management levels (both written and verbal) • Ability to work in a highly matrixed, large organization • Knowledge of Configuration Management controls and processes • Ability to coordinate on-going activities with Hardware Planning, Installation and Integration, Civil Engineering and Systems Engineering groups in evaluation and approval of new mission system installations.
