Successful candidate will support a Systems Engineering contract with the USG based in Laurel, MD. The position will be full-time in Denver,CO at a customer facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following activities. Provide Field Engineering systems support at a customer site near Denver,Colorado in accordance with extended enterprise SE&I standard practices and specific systems engineering needs. The System Engineer Sr. Staff will employ a combination of science,
process, innovation and personal diplomacy to support he Operational region's organizational elements in addressing and solving challenging problems that could benefit from SE methodologies and practices. This individual will need to apply the skills and competencies of a senior-level systems engineer to advise and support the customer's Western region elements in applying and executing proven industry Systems Engineering processes and methodologies to effectively and efficiently address Enterprise/Regional needs.
TheSE has three areas of focus including developing capability requirements, addressing the integration of systems/capabilities developed elsewhere into the Site/Regional baseline, and assisting in the implementation of enterprise standards for systems engineering performance.
TheSE provides requirements development based on solution decomposition, project management and system engineering services that enable mission organizations to satisfy intelligence needs/requirements, improve operating efficiency and tradecraft (where applicable), adapt to modernization, as well as implement and influence corporate services change. TheSE will support enterprise architecture,IC ITE and IC-GOV-Cioud technology discussions. Mission Engineers provide program management and oversight responsibility for ensuring new mission capabilities are accepted into the enterprise and coordinate across the mission domains limiting operational impact as they prioritize resources across the global environment. Experience and expertise with Technical Signals Intelligence (TechSIGINT) will be invaluable in this position.
Focus will also be on implementation of the right side of theSE V model addressing the integration of systems/capabilities developed elsewhere into the Site/Regional baseline, O&M of mission/systems,and decommissioning of obsolete systems. This individual, working in partnership with all directorates will aid in managing technology transfer from development (research, internally developed,partners,and industry) into the architecture for experimentation. In addition, they will work transitioning and decommissioning of legacy capabilities out of the enterprise. This individual should be familiar with and
be able to provide advanced planning I scheduling support.
The engineer will focus on ensuring enterprise process standards, common systems engineering tools, and an enterprise hub is developed to both integrate SE efforts across the enterprise and to manage interoperability standards with external partners. This individual should be familiar with basic resource and configuration management techniques (applied at Site against a facilities management I O&M
paradigm addressing resources like power, space, cooling, etc.), other applicable standards, developmental test,interface specifications, as well as capturing the "as is" and "to be" functional architectures. TheSE will provide support to Configuration Control Boards and Configuration Item control and metrics development.
This position requires excellent organizational skills, excellent communication skills both written and oral,and the ability to document and track progress against action and decisions. This individual must be able to perform the assigned duties independently but coordinated through the Regional Lead Systems Engineering (LSE) lead. The Systems Engineer will prepare, coordinate,and maintain charters and standard operating procedures for forums/processes that support the region's management business rhythms (enabling SE functions) and theSE process areas. TheSE will provide technical input for strategic planning, risk management, and metrics management. TheSE will work closely with the site CM POC and support the site architecture baseline process as it matures. TheSE will encourage the adoption of sound SE principles and practices and will be responsible for creation and coordination of various SE documentation artifacts,associated updates and formal approvals. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Requires 20 years with BS/BA or 18 years with MS/MA or 24 years without a degree.
